The King's Road
This beginning cadence is a throwback to old school military style snare drumming. It begins very regal and majestic before ending with a funky finish!

The Alamo

Gunga Din
Inspired by the famous Rudyard Kipling poem, (or maybe it was the movie) this cadence was first written for and performed by the John Burroughs HS Drumline.

Price: $12
Santa Barbara
Level - Beginning
This was originally written as a "mass drumline" cadence, so it works with as many as 14 bass drums, 20 snares and 12 tenors, but it works just as well with a "normal" size line. I have used it both ways and it works great!
Price: $12
1608
Level - Beginning
I could say that this cadence was dedicated to the "Jamestown Fire", or Captain John Smith's release by Powhatan, but it is actually a 16th note groove cadence that was last revised in 2008.

Samba Reggae
This cadence is based on a Brazilian musical style called Samba Reggae (pronounced "Samba-Hegay") which originated in Bahia, Brazil, and is a mixture of Brazilian Samba and Jamaican Reggae. This has quite a different feel that most "traditional cadences" and will definitely get the crowd going!

Gilligan
Since I couldn't write a bass drum cadence to the opening theme of "Lost", (could anyone?) I used the theme from the other show about a group of people stranded on a tropical island.

Goose
Level - Intermediate
This cadence was originally performed by the CSUN Matador Drumline. The line would scream "Goose" on beat 4 of the 4th bar in homage to the bottom bass drummer.

Ekim
Level - Advanced
Ekim begins using the quarter note triplet as the beat, then uses the straight 8th note to sound "funky". It modulates tempos into a 16th note groove which later adds flams & drags & lots of other fun stuff. I have used it for many of my advanced high school lines.

Donkey Wild
Level - Advanced
This was written for the CSUN Matador Drumline. It contains many metric modulations, with the triplet becoming the 16th note, then back to the triplet, then the dotted 8th becomes the quarter. It also has some fun "grid" ideas at the end. Definitely not for the "beginning" line. It is very challenging, but also very fun!
